Job Description

Position Overview :

Provide Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Subject Matter Expertise for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Government personnel in the areas of Software and Systems, Physics, Phenomenology, Radar and/or IR sensors and signatures, and corresponding analysis / functional evaluation of the output from complex models and simulations. The candidate must possess at least some knowledge and experience in software. It is consider a plus if they hold knowledge and experience in more than one area (e.g. software and physics).

Responsibilities and areas of support - The list is intentionally broad to provide the understanding that the team supports many areas. The candidate will support a subsection of those areas, but should be willing to support any area as called upon. These areas include, but are not limited to the following:

Support RepBox and Tools in the areas of model development, integration, execution, sustainment, test, analysis, and V&V for both Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) and Digital

Support Testing / Troubleshooting / Analysis / Root Cause & Corrective Action across all ESP/ESI areas in all venues and labs (HWIL and Digital) in a collaborative environment with other MDA Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

Support code scans, analysis and software modifications for Information Assurance / Cyber Security

Support and closely interact with the Government customer and Government teams on a daily basis: Scenario, Integration, Operators, Analysis and Core Truth Model (CTM)

Apply knowledge of software products, software test methods and tools to define and characterize behavior and identify developmental defects

Proactively resolve technical issues that could impact development schedule or overall performance of the HWIL and Digital efforts

Document defects in the system such as Engineering Observation Reports (EORs) - and support Observations and Change processes

Prepare and present reports, briefings, and white papers

Participate in and conduct technical meetings and working groups



Job Requirements

Requirements:

Knowledge / Experience in Design, Development, and Analysis of results of complex signature models or weapon system simulations that include interceptors, sensors (RF and IR), battle management, and threats with both RF and IR signatures

Ability to develop and present briefings to Government customers

New Graduate to fifteen (15) years of related experience

Goal-oriented with excellent people skills, ability to work in a team environment, strong work ethic and proactive in all manners related to the job

Clear and effective oral and written communications skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Active DoD Secret Clearance or hiring company can obtain an interim in short order (less than 8 weeks) while providing work for the candidate in the interim

Knowledge / Experience Requirements that are Advantageous:

HWIL and/or Digital Models & Simulations

BMDS

Systems, Physics, Phenomenology, Radar and/or IR

Missile Defense Agency (MDA) processes and policies

Education Requirements:

BS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related technical discipline
