We are looking for an experienced Controller Training Contract(CTC) Instructor to join the SAIC TEAM providing air traffic controllertraining services for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA).
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) isresponsible for ensuring that air traffic control specialists provide theflying public with a high level of safety and professionalism. A well-trainedAir Traffic Control (ATC) workforce plays an essential role in fulfilling thisresponsibility. The FAA employs more than 14,000 air traffic controllers. Theywork in air traffic facilities of varying sizes, safely separating more than 50,000aircraft in the National Airspace System (NAS) each day.
To provide such air traffic services, the FAA trainsnew air traffic control specialists and provides recurrent training to currentair traffic control specialists. The FAA utilizes Contractor-providedinstructional services at FAA ATC facilities throughout the U.S. and itsTerritories to ensure these training needs are met. The scope of thecontractor-provided services includes all training and training program supportto successfully train and prepare students to become fully certified airtraffic controllers. SAIC must provide training and training related supportservices as required for all types and levels of ATC facilities. The selectedcandidate will support Air Traffic Control Tower training requirements at the PhoenixAir Traffic Control Tower Facility at Sky Harbor International Airport,Phoenix, AZ.
The CTC Instructor is a hands-on position thatrequires the candidate to effectively and consistently deliver the highestquality classroom and simulation laboratory training to a wide variety ofstudents including developmental air traffic controllers and certified professionalcontrollers (CPC). The successful candidate for this position must haveexperience demonstrating excellent teaching and/or platform skills, classroommanagement techniques, and a student-focused drive for continuous improvement.
The CTC Instructor candidate must have a minimum offive (5) years recent Certified Professional Controller experience controllinglive traffic, or recent experience instructing FAA personnel. The recentexperience must have been performed at a similar type and level of ATC facilityas the Phoenix Air Traffic Control Tower Facility at Sky Harbor InternationalAirport, Phoenix, AZ. The successful candidate for this position mustdemonstrate strong technical skills with current ATC automation, simulationsystems and procedures. This position will provide mentoring for students andRemote Pilot Operators (RPO) as well as participate in curriculum design anddevelopment. The selected candidate must demonstrate the knowledge and skills applicablefor obtaining radar and/or non-radar simulation laboratory certifications at FAAair traffic control facilities within the U.S. National Airspace System.
Candidateswith direct experience as a CPC at the Phoenix Air Traffic Control Tower Facilityat Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix, AZ will have priority selectionfor the position. Operational Experience with ATC simulators including scenariodesign for TSS. Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with FAApersonnel at all levels to ensure the delivery of training services meet theneeds of the local facility, as well as the FAA's overall Air Traffic Controlmission is highly desired.
CertifiedProfessional Controller (CPC) certification required.
