Job Description

Wolfspeed (Cree's Power & RF division) is one of the world's leading suppliers of gallium nitride (GaN) wafers and devices for RF communications, radar and electronic warfare. Our business is growing rapidly and needs a 3D Electromagnetic (EM) Modeling Engineer within the RF Technology Platform Development team.

What can you do for Wolfspeed:

  • Develop EM modeling methodologies for technology, product and circuit analysis
  • Develop new concepts for optimizing transistor die performance
  • Design integrated passive devices (IPDs)
  • Develop simulation templates to investigate different RF design topologies
  • Assist in the designs of new RF package innovations
  • Generate new intellectual property (IP)
  • Bring a fresh perspective to the challenges we face
  • What you need for success:

  • MS/PhD EE
  • New graduates with Electromagnetics modeling experience will be considered
  • 3+ years 3D EM experience
  • Proficient at using 3D EM simulation tools such as HFSS (preferred) and/or CST
  • Proficient at using circuit simulation tools such as ADS and Microwave Office (MWO)
  • Familiar with power amplifiers (classes of operations, Doherty, Outphasing)
  • Prior RF circuit design desired
  • Working experience with Vector Network Analyzers and able to perform full TRL calibrations
  • Familiar with industry standard Focus and Maury loadpull systems
  • Familiar with GaN and/or LDMOS semiconductor processes
  • Programming experience in C, Python, and/or Matlab
  • Strong communication skills
